Polished Concrete
The Stone Heritage Polished Concrete System is a process that is applied after the concrete is Honed.
The Stone Heritage Polished Concrete System is a sequence of steps that uses a combination of diamond grinding machinery and penetrating sealants that are applied during the polishing process. This sealant penetrates into the pours of the concrete and forms a gel locking up the free lime and calcium which hardens and densifies the surface of the concrete. This enables us to continue polishing and reach a 3000 grit diamond cut, we then apply an advanced lithium silicate that is buffed at high speed to create a great amount of heat hardening the floor further and resulting in a high gloss finish.
“Polished Concrete” by definition can only be achieved at 1800 grit and above and results in a refined ‘polished’ surface that does not require a polyurethane coating.
Stone Heritage Polished Concrete System is a unique flooring system that inculdes the following benefits:
- Harder longer life concrete floor than other suppliers can provide using standard products.
- Easy to clean. Polished Concrete has a low friction resistancy meaning that it is smoother and less likely to attract grime.
- High scratch resistant, more so than other standard floor finishes.
- Anti-static, unlike polyurethane’s that attracts dust, the healthier option
- Friction driven. Foot traffic increases shine!
- Low maintenance cost. To revive to original gloss we simply buff the floor again with our dustless machine.
- Cost efficient. Initially costs more than standard Honed or Ground but far exceeds its life span and maintenance costs, costing you less in the long run.
- Thermal mass properties of a polished concrete floor saves you on the heating bill when north facing windows allow the sun to heat the concrete which holds the heat when insulated.
- Many different colour and finish options are available to complement your surrounding environment
